Cabin Getaway

Wow! What a week we have had! The Donaldson clan took a trip to the cabin and the some of the best memories were made. How nice it was to unplug, hang out and soak up all the nature and cool weather we could. Also, spending our St. Patty's day at Spring Training and a chilly swim was just my cup of tea.

Life has been super tough lately & sometimes it's really hard to stay positive. I'm 100% grateful for both my families and their love that has lifted my spirits! If only there were words to express my love for them. Thanks a million, guys.

hugs,
Madds

The Price Is Right

Waiting in line!

I promise my hair looked good before waiting in the California humidity!

YES! The long awaited Price is Right Post!

Jerret and I drove to Hollywood and stayed the night. Neither of us could sleep! The nerves/excitement were REALLY creeping in! I woke up at 4 with about 4 hours of sleep and Jerret about 5. We got ready for the day and were off to wait in line!

Oh how sketchy that part of town was... but it's all part of the experience, am I right??

We waited for 2.5 hours in line. Jerret and I were numbers 12 and 13. It was fun meeting random strangers in line. I of course, was obsessing over this old couple that were married for 55 years. Old + southern accents + that's the perfect combo!

We finally were directed through the gates and to these benches, where we filled out these forms. Thankfully there was lamp heaters, 'cause we were freezing our buns off in that 60 degree weather. *pathetic*

We got our picture taken and were sent around the corner to wait again. We waited again for another 2 hours. We got some lunch and chatted some more with our new friends! After waiting for some time, we were told that the interviews would start in a few minutes. I was SO NERVOUS! Although I channeled my nerves into energy! WE CAN DO THIS.

Our group of 15 was called to the casting director. He started asking the people in front of us questions like, "Hey so and so, where you from?" "What do you do?"

He then came to us and asked us the same questions, but seemed to linger longer. My face was sore from smiling, but he seemed to really like us! Jerret's energy was awesome as ever!

After the casting interview, we were directed to these metal detectors to hand over our cell phones. I thought, "THIS IS IT", but I was wrong. We headed over to more benches to wait some more. It was fun though, they had previous Price Is Right episodes playing, which really got the crowd pumped up!

The screens went black which meant IT WAS TIME! We formed a line and headed to the studio. It was so colorful and tacky in the most beautiful way! So many crazy and bright colors everywhere! The amount of lights and wires on the ceiling was unbelievable!

The crew started placing people in their seats, although when it came to us, the director stopped them and took us to the front row! Jerret was right next to the 4 contestants' seats! We for sure were guaranteed TV time!

After everyone was seated, the lights became brighter and the energy was crazy as ever! George Gray came out and prepped us for the show. Everything was just so unreal!

It was so interesting the way the filming worked. If there was the slightest mistake, it had to be done again. The camera men would constantly film at different angles to guarantee the perfect shot. Just things that you'd never think about while watching at home.

You couldn't even hear the names being called, it was so loud! They had a guy who wrote each name down on a poster, so once you saw it your heart drops a little bit knowing that it wasn't you.

And in between commercial breaks, Drew Carrey would interact with the audience. He called me out and asked about our tshirts. The shirts said:

Two Lovers
Two Years

Two Dreams come DREW

He really liked them and talked with us for a bit! I totally gave him the cheesiest wink which made him laugh. Goodness, I'm such a dork!

We didn't get our names called, which was a bummer, but we honestly had the best seats! It was a long day, but one awesome experience!

PRICE IS RIGHT TIPS:
1. Be energetic!
2. Interact with everyone around you!
The casting crew is always watching and wants someone that gets everyone excited.

3. Wear a creative Tshirt
Everyone who got on had some fun tshirt which either stood out with its design, or shared their story!

4. Be happy and smile A LOT!

5. Don't be too cheezy.
They love a good story and choose people that America will fall in love with.

*So tune in to The Price Is Right, this Thursdsay MARCH 5th to see me and Jerret hit the big screen!!!

Blessed with the Best

I love nothing more than a weekend spent with family! What a weekend it was! Jerret, Scooter and I took a trip to Mesa to see my mom! I hadn't seen her in over 6 weeks (she was training for Southwest in Texas) so spending time with her was long over due!

It also was the State Championship basketball tournament for Snowflake and THEY WON! Man, that game was a nail biter! You bet our weekend was jam pack full of fun! I also got to see my cute cousin Alisha and her sweet Anabelle! I could kiss those babes cheeks forever!

We celebrated their victory with some Chick-fil-a and some belly aching laughs!

I count my blessings each day that I was born into such a wonderful family! I am truly blessed with the best!
