Sparklers and Lost Luggage

I glanced at my phone this morning and was blown away that it's already mid July. Everything is such a rush and I feel it just gets harder and harder to live in the moment. That really has been a goal of mine to be more present. It feels like I am always thinking about the infinite TO DO's and tomorrows.

Jerret and I, plus the Gibbons clan had a chance to go up north for the fourth of July celebration. We all couldn't wait to get up to that cooler weather. In the excitement of it all, I had forgotten something. My luggage. Being 3 hours away from that filled to the brim suitcase made it tough; with the nearest department store taking at least an hour to get to... Well thank goodness for stylish sisters right? They immediately tended to my needy self and gave me many options to choose from.

Out of all the frustration I was so bothered that things weren't going my way. And as I was stressing, these assuring, loving words came to my head; Maddi, you're not in charge. I had every right to be angry at that thought, but I wasn't. I came to a realization that it isn't always my will. It all comes down to our Heavenly Father. What a wonderful reminder I needed that weekend of the power of our loving Father's will.

After that experience I saw a difference in my attitude. I also felt that I was slowly accomplishing my goal of being more present.

All of us truly had a memorable time spent with family. From waking up to a pancakes on the back porch, to a sparkling finale of Costco fireworks. Happy 4th, guys.

WHITE OUT

It's not official until it hits social media. So... we moved! We're calling Mesa our new home + AGAIN.

With a big thanks to family, we were able to tackle the first renovation... painting. Our house had a bad case of the blues, but is now whited out and fresh as ever.

In celebration of completing task 1 of 132,161,283,162,736 I sported the white on white outfit for some snapshots and later on our Cafe Rio date.

I'm no Joanna Gaines, but I am for sure loving these Fixer Upper projects.

Next on the agenda: Cabinets + making Home Depot my second home.

Fiesta Like There's No Mañana

I was the absolute luckiest to throw my best friend's Bridal Shower, but I honestly couldn't have done it without the help from my family and friends!

I thought a fiesta theme would be perfect! My friend Mikayla and I had the best time planning! There are so many easy fiesta DIY's with a hint of spicy to make it perfecto! Also, major bonus points because me and Danielle share a huge love for guacamole + so that was an obvious menu choice.

I'm so grateful for a night spent with good food and better friends. We all really did "Fiesta Like There's No Mañana!"

SO EXCITED for you Danielle! Welcome to the Married Club!

I obviously had too much Coca-Cola...

I love a good "uncomfortable/blushing/bride" shot

The panties in the piñata gave her a good laugh!

OLE!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU DANI!!!
